Over the years the breadth and depth of programmes and topics has grown, many different approaches/methods of teaching/sharing have been explored. Ashtanga Yoga remains only as one of the ‘seeds’ from which the current methodology has grown. It preserves some of the ‘original’ features, but it is now quite far from how Ashtanga Yoga is taught at its source in Mysore today.
Hot Yoga Coventry is a NEW purpose built studio in the centre of Coventry. We offer Yoga + Hot Yoga for people of all ages and abilities. We encourage everyone to give yoga a try - and that means YOU :)
It was a joy to have found a system of yoga which acknowledges the many different kinds of over-flexibility or stiffness people have, and shows how to work with problems to improve. The emphasis on safety means lifelong practice is an attainable goal, as Mr Iyengar himself demonstrated. He was an inspiration, and now his method continues, safe in the hands of his successors.
My motivation to teach yoga is to share with others the benefits that I personally have discovered from its regular practise. People are always searching for ways to be healthy and for ways to be happy and through my exposure to Yoga I have found great health and happiness and really love being able to pass on my wonderful experiences to others.
I loved that Yoga is non-competitive, and that my practice was "my" practice. I left my classes feeling energised, grounded, centered, and physically I could feel that my core muscles were being strengthened - I felt good - I also felt calm and mindful and far more able to deal with the "stuff" life throws at us.
