The Benefits of Bootcamp

If you’re a regular visitor to the GoSweat site, you might have noticed that we’re rather partial to a bootcamp or two. In fact, we just can’t help ourselves when it comes to those team sessions — whether we’re running around freezing ourselves silly or hopping ourselves into a sweaty frenzy, the bootcamp is perhaps the most addictive fitness phenomenon we’ve ever come across. So, why do we do it to ourselves?

There are numerous benefits to bootcamps, which we’d like to share with you now. We’re sure you’ll find that there’s never been a better reason to be up and about early at the weekend…

Bootcamps are great for your health

Bootcamps are designed to provide a full body workout, so no two sessions are ever the same. Incorporating cardio, interval training, strength training, stretches and weights, bootcamps are a great way to test your flexibility and agility, and to work on areas you’ve perhaps become a little less fond of — nothing is out of bounds at bootcamp. Regularly attending a local bootcamp will improve your stamina and overall fitness, as well as increasing your appreciation of exercise and toning your whole body. We can’t say fairer than that, really.

Bootcamps are fantastic mood lifters

Who’d have thought that standing in a freezing cold park being yelled at by a stranger could be fun? However, we guarantee that you’ll be hooked from the moment that first command is barked — we certainly were. Participating in a bootcamp is empowering, and your body will do things you never thought it capable of. What’s more, there’s just something about getting out and about in the fresh air that’s good for the soul. Boy will you sweat, but you’ll feel amazing for it.

Bootcamps are great for friends

Take a good look at the people standing around you; they’re about to become your best friends as you run, jump, stretch, and lift beyond your wildest dreams. From raised eyebrows and nervous chuckles to offers of coffee and breakfast afterwards, there are few fitness classes as social as a bootcamp — perhaps because you are thrown so far out of your comfort zone to begin with. The best thing about bootcamps is that you won’t care if you’ve not managed to rope your friends into joining you; you’ve a whole class of new friends to get to know.

You’ll find an array of the latest and greatest bootcamps on our blog. Go ahead and sign up to your nearest class — you won’t be sorry!
