Being one of the biggest bootcamps in South London, One Element did not disappoint our high expectations. We took part at a mid-morning session, on Tooting Common, where the clientele were mostly mums and dads. Most of whom had brought their kids along to play in the park, whilst they worked up a sweat. Creating a tremendous atmosphere of community, companionship, and understanding that sweat can be worked into your life, not the other way around.
One Element does bootcamps the traditional way – equipment free, body weight exercises with lots of cardio in between. We settled into an hour long session of short Sprints, mixed with Press-ups, Planks and Squats laced in between. The total distance covered was substantial, but was brilliantly coached so that you didn’t really appreciate how much ground was covered. Additionally, by partnering up, exercises were kept things fresh, with an increased element of competition, albeit very passive.
The coach joined in the entire session which adds to the community led feeling of the class – there was no man/woman left behind.
One piece of advice – take studded boots, otherwise, you’ll end up as muddy as me!
