November Sweat Forecast

Remember, remember, to get sweaty this November! Just because the winter months are in full swing doesn’t mean you need to be anything less than fit as a fiddle, and luckily there are a bunch of excellent sport and fitness events going on to keep you active during the penultimate month. Here are a few of our favourites:

Swedish Fit

Swedish Fit

On the 2nd of November, what better way to kick off the month than with a high intensity, non-stop, full body workout, hmm? This complete workout, designed by the folks at Swedish Fit to accommodate all ages and fitness levels, promises to have you working out your smiling muscles alongside every other muscle in your body. Classes take place near Sloane Square, cost £10, and focus on having fun while you get fit.

Fighting Fit

Boxing and fighting exercise has proven to be one of the best workouts you can do, helping participants increase their strength and endurance, and tone their whole body. Fighting Fit takes place on the 7th of November in Shoreditch, and uses similar training methods and fitness drills to that of fighters in this hour long class. Suitable for all levels, this class promises to be safe as well as fun; no sparring takes place, just good old fashioned fitness. Don’t worry if you’ve never done any boxing before, you’ll learn everything you need to know and will even have your chance to train using pads. £10 per session to feel like Rocky is a pretty good deal!

Run In The Dark

There’s nothing like a race through the city at night to keep you warm in the winter months. This year’s Run In The Dark event takes place in London on the 14th and 15th of November, and helps to raise money to fast-track a cure for paralysis through The Mark Pollock Trust. With red flashing armbands, and hopefully layers to brave the cold, participants will run 5 or 10K in aid of the charity, and work up a sweat in the process.

If you’re currently standing at attention like a meerkat at the very mention of prosecco, and you fancy a workout alongside your bubbly, then this is the event for you. On the 9th of November, you can enjoy 15 minute tasters of 3 different workouts: Boxing and Bodyweight Basics with Chris Pinner (a full body boxing workout), an AMRAP Challenge with Sophie Tosone (As Many Reps As Possible...yikes), and Calisthenics with Oli Thompson (gymnastics exercises to build fitness and balance). Afterwards you can indulge in post-workout food, and of course enjoy a glass of prosecco while you listen to a guest talk from Innerfit's nutritional therapist Kristy Coleman. The event takes place on Oxford Street and costs £20 - the perfect evening for those who want to try out new fitness classes and foods.
