February Sweat Forecast

Well done everyone, you’ve made it through January! It’s February, the shortest and most useless month. It needn’t be that way though. Christmas and New Year are all but distant memories and summer seems a lifetime a way. So what better way to make the most of this month in miniature than by checking out some of our amazing sports and classes in London? Go on, GoSweat, no excuses now….

Filipino Stick Fighting

Filipino stick fighting, how cool does that sound? In fact I challenge you to try and think of a cooler way of staying fit this Feb. Can’t think of one? Ye didn’t think so. As the story goes Stick fighting was invented centuries ago when Filipinos integrated their native knife fighting arts with Western boxing. Don’t worry, no knives are now involved! Just loads of fun! Sessions are held on a Saturday afternoon in Vauxhall.

Never heard of it? No neither had I. It’s a lot like netball and basketball but uniquely is played in mixed teams - four men and four women to each team. In the 1920s it was in the Olympics, now it’s in Waterloo. It really doesn’t matter if you’ve never played before, there’s an international coach available and teams for all abilities. So if you’re bored of the gym and feel like keeping fit why not give it a go this February?
